This bag is exactly what I was looking for. It’s not a backpack, which means no rummaging through a floppy rucksack-type bag. It is rigid and padded to protect the gear and equipment inside (no need for headset case!), and it has compartments and multiple pockets that keep everything within easy reach. On top of that, it is aesthetically pleasing!
The headset compartment is roomy enough for eyeglasses, foggles, and the handful of other tools I’ll be adding a bit further along in training. The front and back compartments are great – I haven’t taken advantage of all of the different pockets yet, but love that everything can have a proper place. The top handle is comfortably padded, and the shoulder strap is adjustable with a cushioned pad.
The only thing I wish was different is the large compartment – it has fewer built-in pockets than the original Lift bag. I would have loved a dedicated spot for my headset cable and control module, instead of resorting to my current organization hack.
As an AOPA member, I added my initials – embroidered in light silvery gray on the front panel, neat and centered in a clean sans-serif font.
