Fall Flying Essentials
Fall flying season is upon us! It’s time for cool mornings and nights and amazing flying conditions. Here are a few items to get you going!
#1 A versatile jacket
For those cold fall mornings, ditch the bulk and dawn a versatile jacket. In the cockpit and during pre-flighting you don’t want to be bogged down with bulky heavyweight jackets especially when temps warm as the day goes on. But sometimes a hoodie isn’t enough. We recommend the Airfoil Jacket. This jacket can tackle even the coldest of days but remains lightweight enough to wear in fall in spring. The best part, as temps go up, you can take this jacket off and store easily. The Airoil folds down and fits into its own pocket, making its imprint minimal in the cockpit. Plus, it’s loaded with pilot-friendly features. Interior and exterior zippered pockets are great for your phone, charging cables or any other small gear. Large cuffs accommodate pilot watches and a drawcord hem seals out cold drafts. It’s insulated and quilted for extra comfort and features a water-repellent coating that shrugs off light rain and snow.

#2 Lighting solutions
As daylight shortens, having solid lighting solutions is a must for pilots. A strong LED light is essential for pre-flighting while cockpit-friendly, night-flying, low-lighting options are a must. Battery life is also a key feature especially if an emergency arises. Do all this and more with our Bush Pilot Flashlight. This flashlight features a smart select dial that provides five unique light modes that can be accessed without scrolling through each one. Blast up to 1,000 lumens of white light for safe preflight inspections, or provide up to 120 hours of low-level green light so you don’t disturb sleeping passengers. An adjustable beam provides spot and flood light modes, and there’s even a strobe setting for emergency signaling. The Bush Pilot Flashlight is charged via a USB port, so you don’t have to worry about carrying AA batteries; it will recharge from your cigarette lighter, portable battery pack, or wall plug. Plus, the same charging port can provide output for keeping your phone at 100%.
A second lighting solution is our Pilot’s headlamp. This dual-color headlamp puts the right type of light right where you need it without tying up your hands. Dual switches allow you to turn on just the white light, or just the red light. This means you don’t have to scroll through different lights and ruin your night vision.
